Amy Knisley, CPM

I was born and raised in Ohio. After spending a few years in Virginia shortly after high school, and after giving birth to my first born, I returned back to Central Ohio. My first born will be graduating 2016, and my other son is soon to be 15, and a daughter who is almost 13.   We live in Granville, Ohio, after having spent about 10 years in Hilliard. One of my favorite hobbies is photography. I also enjoy hot yoga, cooking and love watching the kids play soccer. My birth work career began in the fall of 2006 as I embarked on becoming a Doula. Shortly after I got started on that, my life took a turn I hadn’t expected — I fell onto the path to Midwifery. In 2007, I was offered an apprenticeship by a local home birth midwife and took that opportunity over the next few years. In June of 2009, I began an Internship with CHOICE and became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) late summer (2010). I am very passionate about VBAC’s, most of which have been very successful. I have also assisted in a handful of breech births and also twins. I feel really grateful that I have had such awesome mentors and wonderful clients, whom I have learned loads from along the way. To date I have attended approximately 400 births. My goal is to provide professional support to families, that results in a very positive, empowering, educated experience for women, regardless of race, income level, or religion. I love what I do and look forward to assisting many more families in the future.
